MarketWatch.com has hired Jessie Shi to be social media editor.
She started last week.
Shi previously was the social media editor at the San Antonio Express-News, where she started in January 2020 and led an 80 percent growth in social visits. She previously was project engagement manager at New York University, where she oversaw the News Literacy 2018 series on the latest journalism innovation and managed the department’s Twitter account.
She also worked at Barron’s as an audience engagement fellow.
Shi holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from New York University in digital journalism innovation.
