MarketWatch.com hires Riquier as its housing finance reporter

Steve Goldstein, Washington bureau chief for MarketWatch.com, sent out the following announcement on Monday:

Please welcome our new housing finance reporter, Andrea Riquier, based in DC. Most recently at Investor’s Business Daily, she also worked at Debtwire, alongside Ellie, and also interned at Bloomberg. Andrea now has a vastly different commute, seeing as how she previously had to turn left coming out of the Farragut North metro station, and now has to turn right.

At Investor’s Business Daily, her beat included everything shaping the macro economy, such as housing, jobs, manufacturing, consumer spending, and more. She also covered the Fed and its long slow slog toward normalization, the Bank of Japan and the promise of Abenomics, and the ECB and challenges for the future of the Eurozone.

Previously, she covered distressed and high-yield municipal debt, as well as more general public finance issues for Debtwire. She broke lots of news about public pensions, especially about CalPERS.

Riquier is a graduate of Boston University.
