MarketWatch.com has hired Jeremy Binckes as a senior news editor.
Binckes has been at MarketWatch parent News Corp. for the past two years working on an editorial project. He has implemented a newly developed content management system, and trained leadership and new editors on the system.
He previously was at Salon for two years, originally hired as a cover editor, but quickly promoted to senior news editor, and then to managing editor. He directed the breaking news team of five writers, assigning and editing current event stories with immediate deadlines.
Binckes also worked at the New York Daily News as a copy editor and at Yahoo curating news for its app.
He is a Boston University graduate.
