The Marijuana Business Daily has hired Andrew Long as a data reporter.
He starts next Tuesday.
Long is a Phoenix-based journalist and entrepreneur. He worked as a news artist for the East Valley Tribune, and the Arizona Republic, where he specialized in information design and cartography.
At the Republic, he led the graphics coverage for a team of reporters, editors and photographers dedicated to improving the quality and appeal of the front page of the newspaper.
After he left the Republic, Andrew co-founded the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting. He has also taught web and data journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. While there, he was the interactive editor for the award-winning Carnegie-Knight News21.
In 2017, Long founded the Arizona Game Fair, which is now the largest tabletop gaming convention in Arizona.
He graduated from Arizona State University in 2011 where he specialised in GIS and spatial analysis.
