Lori Valigra, a senior reporter at MaineBiz, is joining the Bangor Daily News’ Portland bureau.
Her first day will be Aug. 28 as the daily’s economics/business reporter. She has been at MaineBiz for four years.
Valigra has written about science, technology, and business for both general and specialty news outlets in the United States, Europe and Asia. She has been involved in several publishing startups, including one of the first electronic publications, The Computer Industry Daily.
Her articles have been published by The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, Reuters, United Press International, The Asian Wall Street Journal, ScienceBusiness, Science magazine and many others.
She also has won numerous journalism fellowships and awards including the Knight Science Journalism Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
