Maine biz reporter joins Bangor paper

Jackie Farwell, who has covered energy, real estate development, banking and finance for Mainebiz, is joining the Bangor Daily News in Maine to be its health care editor.

A story on the Daily News website states, “‘As someone who grew up in Bangor and worked covering the Maine business community, Jackie knows Maine well,’ said Todd Benoit, director of news and new media at the BDN. ‘Her coverage of the business end of health care and her skill as an award-winning journalist made her an excellent fit for us.’

“Working from Portland, Farwell will cover both health care finances and health issues that directly affect Maine residents.

“‘Health topics affect our lives on so many levels,’ she said, ‘from complicated policy and public health issues to the daily decisions we all make about our own wellness. I plan to cover that full spectrum in a way that’s not only accurate and objective, but also accessible and relevant.'”
