Lutz departs Red Ventures, headed to LA

Ashley Lutz

Ashley Lutz, who has been editor in chief of The Points Guy and a vice president at parent company Red Ventures, has left the company and plans to move to Los Angeles to look for a new opportunity.

She has been there since June 2018. She was in charge of all content production, including editorial articles, video, and podcast.

She previously was executive editor at Business Insider. At Business Insider, Lutz also led its retail, transportation, and executive lifestyle teams. She joined Business Insider from Bloomberg and developed and wrote Business Insider’s “Ask the Insider” work-advice column.

Lutz was the inaugural recipient of the Mark Pittman Investigative Reporting internship at Bloomberg during the summer of 2010 and split her time with the project and investigations and real estate teams.

The Ohio University graduate covered business and enterprise stories for The Columbus Dispatch and oversaw a staff of 150 as editor-in-chief of The Post, Ohio University’s daily student newspaper.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
