Shefali Luthra will be joining The 19th as a health care reporter, reports Politico.
Currently, Luthra is a correspondent covering health and health policy at Kaiser Health News.
Before that, she was editor-in-chief and president of Brown Daily Herald Inc. where she oversaw editorial and business operations of daily campus newspaper.
Luthra has also served as a Kaiser health reporting intern covering health and health care policy affecting Texas at Texas Tribune. She was also a general assignment reporter at the publication.
She has also served as an editorial intern at McSweeney’s.
In addition, Luthra’s work has appeared in numerous other publications, including The Washington Post, NPR, USA Today, The Atlantic, CNN Health and The Daily Beast.
She has also appeared on various radio shows and panels to discuss health issues. Luthra also launched new social media efforts at Kaiser Health News, including hosting the organization’s first Reddit AMA.
Luthra has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Brown University.
