Aaron Lucchetti of The Wall Street Journal is moving to the publishing desk as a senior editor overseeing coverage of finance and markets

He has been the deputy banking editor.

“Looking forward to the great stories and talented journalists I’ll be working with in the new role!” he wrote on Twitter.

Lucchetti has been with The Journal for more than 20 years. He’s reported and edited on the tectonic shifts affecting big banks.

He also wrote about technology and electronic trading on Wall Street, including breaking stories on the consolidation of global markets such as the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

In 2009, Lucchetti and a group of Journal reporters won the Gerald Loeb Award in the Breaking News category for stories about the collapse of Lehman Brothers. The team of reporters also was named as a finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize.
