Annie Lowrey, who covers economic policy for New York magazine, has been hired by The Atlantic to cover the same beat.
Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor in chief of The Atlantic, sent the following to the staff on Wednesday:
Some good news for you, amid all the other news: Annie Lowrey is joining us as a writer. She’ll focus on covering economic policy, principally with Becca and the Biz team. You’ll know Annie from her great work at The New York Times, New York mag, Slate, and elsewhere. I know she’s excited to be coming to The Atlantic now and working with everyone here. Annie lives in Washington, and she’ll be among us at the Watergate starting next week, so look forward to that.
Lowrey will start with The Atlantic next week, working on the team led by Business Editor Rebecca Rosen.
