Lou Dobbs posts Fox’s first monthly win against CNBC

Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” recorded the network’s first-ever monthly ratings win over CNBC in total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The program had previously topped CNBC in the advertising demo of persons aged 25-54, but this is the first monthly win for both the network and the program in total viewers.

Hosted by Lou Dobbs, the program averaged 115,000 total viewers for the 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. time slot compared to CNBC’s 113,000 viewers for September. In addition, Dobbs earned his highest rated telecast of the year on Friday, with 217,000 total viewers.

The third quarter was also Fox Business Network’s highest-rated quarter ever for the business day, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It averaged 90,000 viewers during the quarter.
