Taylor Lorenz, who has been covering the culture of tech for the New York Times, is moving to the newspaper’s business news desk.
She had been on the styles desk.
“This is such a huge step forward for my beat & I’m so excited to keep going all in on covering online creators and internet culture,” she wrote on Twitter.
Lorenz joined the Times in September 2019. She previously was a technology and culture writer at The Atlantic. She was a 2019 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University where her research focused on Instagram and news consumption. She is also a former affiliate at Harvard’s Berkman-Klein Center for Internet and Society.
She is a University of Colorado graduate.
