Scott Thurston, a longtime business journalist at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, is retiring at the end of the month.
Thurston has been with the paper since 1981.
He is currently the local business/economy team coach. Thurston has also covered transportation companies such as Delta Air Lines and been the paper’s assistant business editor. He also worked as the paper’s Sunday travel editor.
Thurston originally worked for the paper’s suburban newspapers in DeKalb County, an Atlanta suburb. He also had a stint as the paper’s military reporter.
He is a graduate of Auburn University, where he was editor of the student newspaper.
