Long Island Business News names new publisher, editor

Scott Schoen has been named publisher and Greg Zeller has been named editor of the Long Island Business News, a Dolan paper.

A story on its website states, “Zeller returned to LIBN in January after serving as a reporter and managing editor at the paper in 2006. He’s been a reporter and editor for 23 years at multiple publications in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, including 12 years as a Long Island journalist.

“‘I’m so excited by this opportunity to help manage the best newspaper on Long Island,’ Zeller said. ‘A lot of important people rely on the information provided by LIBN, and as we transition deeper into the digital age it’s both a privilege and an immense challenge to educate and entertain that loyal audience – and to grow that audience, also.’

“The Dolan Company Group Publisher Chris Eddings praised both Schoen and Zeller, saying they were the right fit to move the company forward.

“‘Scott and Greg will make a terrific team to carry on the business legacy of Long Island Business News,’ Eddings said. ‘They both know Long Island, our readers and our customers. They know the side roads and the main drag. They’re perfect, and we’re really looking forward to them continuing to grow LIBN.'”
