Long Island biz paper publisher finalist for another job

The publisher of the Long Island Business News, a Dolan Media weekly, is a finalist to become the next president of the Long Island Association, the region’s largest business and civic group.

James Bernstein of Newsday writes, “John Kominicki, publisher of Long Island Business News in Ronkonkoma. Sources say if the LIA board decides to go in a direction that would take the organization away from its long-term leadership by lawyers, Kominicki would be the guy.

“The LIA received 52 resumes for the top job by its March 25 deadline.”

Kominicki has been publisher of Long Island Business News since 1998. Before coming to Long Island, Kominicki headed business publications in Texas and Oklahoma and was a longtime Europe-based writer and editor for such publications as Stars & Stripes, The New York Times, the Dallas Morning News and USA Today.
