The Gerald Loeb Awards, considered the Pulitzer Prizes of business journalism, have refined the category descriptions for a few entries and expanded the number of entries for 2011.
The category definitions that have had a few minor changes are the breaking news, online enterprise and blogging categories. All definition changes involve adding a phrase to further clarify what judges will be looking for.
This year there is a maximum of five entries per submission in all print and online categories. Some categories last year had a maximum of three entries per submission.
Also, this year each outlet is limited to two submissions per category and the same submission may only be entered in a maximum of two different categories.
