Jack Weatherly, former senior business writer and business editor at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, has been hired by the Mississippi Business Journal.
A story on its website states, “A native of Mississippi (Attala County) and a graduate of the University of Memphis, Weatherly was also the business editor in the late 1990s at The Clarion-Ledger in Jackson.
“‘We are very lucky to have someone as talented and experienced as Jack come to the Mississippi Business Journal,’ MBJ editor Ross Reily said. ‘This gives us another great reporter in our newsroom to cover our state’s business community. He not only brings a wealth of journalism experience, he also has a significant background in business publications.’
“Weatherly will be covering a multitude of subjects at the MBJ but he will be concentrating on economic development, technology and health care and energy.
“‘I hope to help the Mississippi Business Journal to continue to tell the story of what is happening in the state in all facets of the private sector, as well as the public sector when relevant.
