Jay has been a freelance journalist covering local news, politics, arts, food, and more through photography, written reporting, and videography. He has contributed to publications, including The New York Times, Edible, Deadspin, Village Voice, Serious Eats, DNAInfo, Gothamist, and others.
Jay has also worked as a data journalist at CNBC reporting data-driven stories for Grow, a personal finance blog. He was also producer, The Leonard Lopate Show at WNYC Radio. He was also an editorial intern at Vox Media, Inc.
Jay also served as national desk broadcast associate at CBS News and assisted technical directors in the CBS Evening News control room.
Jay is a B.A. in international relations and Asian studies from State University of New York College at Geneseo and a M.A. in journalism from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
