Lauren Silva Laughlin has returned to Breakingviews as global deals editor.
Laughlin is a seasoned columnist who was one of the founding members of the U.S. team in 2006. She left in 2010 to follow her family to Dallas, then came back in 2017, and has been at the Wall Street Journal’s “Heard on the Street” since April.
In her new role, Laughlin will support efforts globally to ensure Breakingviews remains the first- and must-read publication for agenda-setting financial insight on mergers, acquisitions, stock offerings and bankruptcies.
Additionally, she will also help explore the feasibility of creating new products focused on the advisory community, expand investment-banking contacts and readership in New York and beyond for the team. She will also coordinate coverage, particularly on international deals.
Laughlin will begin her new role at the start of 2020. She will move to New York from Dallas in the second quarter.
