LA Times journalist Kim departs for WSJ

Kyle Kim will be joining the Wall Street Journal as a graphics reporter after leaving the Los Angeles Times at the end of this week.

In his new role, Kim will be working with Hanna J. Sender, Tonia Cowan and Shazna Nessa along with the WSJ graphics crew.

Currently, Kim is a data/graphics journalist at the Los Angeles Times where he pitches, reports and produces data-driven visualizations through maps, charts, diagrams and interactives. Previously, he was with GlobalPost where he started working as a breaking news writer.

Later on, he was promoted to the post of digital news producer and then held the post of deputy editor, social media and news desk for the company.

Kim has a B.A. in journalism and mass communications and visual communications from Whitworth University.
