Helen Zhao, the residential real estate reporter for the Los Angeles Business Journal, has resigned for a position at CNBC.
Zhao is going to be a rotating news associate at CNBC through different departments before settling into a permanent position. She starts in September.
She has been with the Business Journal since January. Before that, she was a news fellow on the business desk of the Los Angeles Times. She also spent 18 months as a digital content producer for the Daily Mail in Los Angeles.
Zhao has an undergraduate degree from UCLA and a master’s degree from Southern Cal.
While at Southern Cal, she was chosen as one of 15 students across the undergrad and grad programs to report, shoot and edit for ABC News and Diane Sawyer’s “American Dream” special.
