Krolicki named Americas regional editor at Reuters

Kevin Krolicki

Reuters editor in chief Steve Adler sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

I’m delighted to announce that Kevin Krolicki has been named regional editor of the Americas, effective immediately. He will report to me.

Kevin, who has had the role on an interim basis, will provide leadership across the Americas news file, setting editorial direction and executing a winning coverage strategy for the region. During his tenure as Washington bureau chief and his stint as interim regional editor, Kevin has provided an exciting preview of the positive, collegial management style that I am confident will empower and inspire the entire Americas team. In his new role, Kevin will also be part of my global leadership team, helping craft strategy and strengthen coverage world-wide, along with my other direct reports.

Over the next few weeks, Kevin will make decisions regarding his organizational structure and share them with the team.

Kevin joined Reuters in 1996 as a producer for a service called Reuters Financial Television, later becoming Asia editor for that service. In 2004, he embarked on an 8-year leadership tour in the U.S., serving as bureau chief for the West Coast and then Detroit. Kevin returned to Asia to lead the Japan bureau, and was named Reuters Editor of Year in 2013. For the past year, he’s been serving as Washington D.C. bureau chief. Throughout his 20-year career at Reuters, Kevin has demonstrated exceptional news judgment and leadership skills. He has a deep understanding of the Americas region – our market, clients, bureaus and the stories that matter most – that will stand us in good stead as we move forward together.

We will begin a search for Kevin’s successor as Washington D.C. bureau chief, and he’ll continue to serve in a dual capacity until we make an appointment. Kevin will be based in Washington for now but will also spend a lot of time in the New York office.

Please join me in congratulating Kevin and wishing him great success as Americas regional editor.
