Koppisch hired as AME of Discourse

John Koppisch

Longtime business journalist John Koppisch has been named assistant managing editor of Discourse.

Discourse is a new online journal of economics, politics and society dedicated to free-market ideas from George Mason University.

Koppisch had been a freelance editor for Inc. magazine earlier this year. He previously was a senior editor at Forbes magazine from March 2006 to June 2019.

Before that, Koppisch spent five years at BusinessWeek as deputy finance editor. He was also page one editor, and Asia markets and finance bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong.

He was also a business reporter for the Tampa Tribune.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
