Kolhatkar leaving Bloomberg Businessweek

Sheelah Kolhatkar

Sheelah Kolhatkar, an editor and writer at Bloomberg Businessweek, is leaving the magazine to become a staff writer at The New Yorker, reports Joe Pompeo of Politico.

Pompeo writes, “This will be Kolhatkar’s second tour at parent company Condé Nast, where she was a contributing editor at short-lived business glossy Condé Nast Portfolio in the late aughts. Before that she was a reporter at The New York Observer.”

Prior to joining Bloomberg Businessweek, Kolhatkar was a contributor to Time magazine and New York magazine. She has also written for publications including The New Yorker, The New York Times, and The Atlantic Monthly.

She has appeared as a commentator on broadcast outlets, including CNBC, CBS, NPR, WNYC, PBS “NewsHour” and Charlie Rose, and has conducted interviews or moderated panels at conferences and events including BSR, Advertising Week, Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, the New America Foundation and at the United Nations.

Before becoming a journalist, she worked as a risk arbitrage analyst at two hedge funds in New York City. Kolhatkar holds a B.F.A. from New York University and a M.A. from Stanford University.
