Bernie Kohn, the weekend managing editor at Bloomberg News, is becoming an editor at large at Bloomberg BNA.
Kohn will be working with BNA reporters on their stories to make them better.
In addition to government-focused news and information products, Bloomberg BNA provides news and information about the legal, tax and compliance markets. BNA restructured under new editor in chief Cesca Antonelli last month and laid off 46 staffers.
At Bloomberg, Kohn oversees the global breaking-news report on weekends out of Washington, where he joined Bloomberg in 2010 as a team leader for regulation coverage.
He previously spent 27 years as a reporter and editor for newspapers including the Tampa Tribune, the Charlotte Observer, the Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun, where he led a team that was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2007 for stories chronicling abuses in Maryland’s centuries-old ground-rent laws.
Kohn is a former president of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
