Brenna McDermott has been hired as a business reporter for the Knoxville News Sentinel and the Knoxville Business Journal in Tennessee.
Jack McElroy of the News Sentinel writes, “Brenna relocated to Knoxville from Columbia, Mo., where she was group editor/director of content for the Business Times Co. and editor of the Columbia Business Times. In that role last year, she earned a spot on the Folio 30 Under 30 list, which recognizes young leaders who will be shaping the future of the magazine media industry.
“Before that, Brenna, a graduate of Truman State University, was director of women’s network at the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re thrilled to have her.
“She’ll be teaming up with Cortney Roark, with whom readers of the Business Journal are already well acquainted. Cortney is a University of Tennessee graduate and former News Sentinel, Moxley Carmichael and City of Knoxville intern.”
