Senior media and technology correspondent Dennis Kneale is among three high-ranking people leaving Fox Business Network this week, multiple sources confirmed to Talking Biz News.
The others leaving are executive producer Andy Hoffman and senior producer Lou Giserman. They had worked on the “Markets Now” show during the middle of the day that is being cut back.
The departures come just after Fox Business signed Deirdre Bolton, formerly with Bloomberg Television, to a new contract and revamped its daytime schedule to include a morning show hosted by Maria Bartiromo, whom it hired from CNBC.
Fox Business provided the following statement from executive vice president Kevin Magee when asked about the departures:
“The anchors, reporters and production teams in place are poised to produce business television that is approachable, comprehensive and provides critical analysis of this important economic climate. Our new programming structure emphasizes our financial acumen and wide breadth of experience and we look forward to its debut on Febr. 24.”
Magee further noted he “appreciated Hoffman, Giserman and Kneale’s service to FOX Business” and stated that “no further staffing changes are being considered with the elimination of Markets Now and the new overall programming format.”
Hoffman had been with Fox Business since 2007, the year it launched. Before that, he was a senior producer at “Good Morning America” for three years and a senior producer at CNBC for seven years.
Kneale had been with Fox Business since 2010. Before that, he had spend three years at CNBC as its tech and media editor. He was also managing editor of Forbes and worked at The Wall Street Journal. His contract actually ended late last year.
Giserman had also produced “The Casone Exchange” on Fox Business.
