Kiplinger hires community editor

Kiplinger has hired Rebecca Dolan as community editor.

In the position, Dolan will manage and grow Kiplinger’s social media community, creating content and interacting with readers across multiple platforms including regular web chats featuring personal finance experts.

“We are proud to welcome Rebecca to the Kiplinger team,” said Doug Harbrecht, director of New Media at Kiplinger Washington Editors, in a statement. “With her diverse experience and fresh approach to social media, she will bring a new level of engagement and interaction for our readers across multiple platforms.”

Most recently, Dolan was the associate editor at Huffington Post Travel where she managed the site’s social media community, expanding the follower base by thousands. She also reported on travel news and enterprise travel features. During her time at The Huffington Post, she edited a Lowell Thomas award-winning series — a distinction for outstanding journalism in the field of travel and exploration.

Dolan has also worked at AOL Travel, AOL City’s Best, Jacksonville Magazine in Jacksonville, Florida, and Medill News Service. A graduate of The College of William and Mary with a Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Dolan has experience reporting on topics such as health and science, environment and energy, performing arts and travel.
