Kiggins hired as biz editor for California paper

Steve Kiggins

Steve Kiggins has been hired as the business editor of the Santa Clarita Valley Signal and editor of the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal.

He started in late December.

Kiggins was previously the editor of of The Spectrum & Daily News in Utah and the Desert Valley Times in Mesquite, Nevada, since May 2015.

Kiggins had worked twice previously for The Spectrum & Daily News before returning in 2015. He was sports editor for two years in the late 1990s, then served as Cedar City bureau chief from 2005-07.

He also worked in media and education in Wyoming.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
