OLD Media Moves

Kassy Cho joins Bloomberg’s TicToc team in London to develop its audience

Kassy Cho has joined the Bloomberg TicToc team in London, England, to do audience development for their channels and for Instagram.

Aimed at the next generation of media consumers and started in December of 2017, TicToc is Bloomberg’s Twitter network and an expanding media brand offering a podcast and daily newsletter.

Until recently, Cho has worked as audience development editor at BuzzFeed in the UK where she executed strategies for growing the BuzzFeed World brand across social platforms, making the BuzzFeed @world Instagram the fastest growing news account on the platform in 2018.

For three years, she worked as Global News reporter and producer in the UK, reporting on global breaking and social news with an emphasis on tech and online culture in the Asia Pacific, popularizing memes such as “Karma’s A Bitch” and the Four Generations challenge from China in the West.

She has also worked as a junior product manager at Conde Nast Publications, as a freelance contributing writer to KKBOX Inc. in Tapei and as an associate editor and staff writer at City543 also in Tapei.

Cho has a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA with a major in communications studies and a minor in film, television and digital media.

TicToc is a departure from Bloomberg Media in that it’s aimed at a younger audience (25-35) and covers general news, not just business.
