Chris Lester, the business editor at the Kansas City Star, announced Wednesday that he’s leaving the paper for a job at the local chamber of commerce.
“Lester, 47, joined The Star in 1985 as a business reporter. His 24-year career at the paper included a stint at City Hall before spending the last decade shaping the newspaper’s award-winning business coverage.
“Lester was a co-author of the series, ‘Divided We Sprawl,’ a Pulitzer Prize finalist. He was part of a team that won a Gerald Loeb award and a John Hancock award, along with numerous other national and regional honors.”
