Recently, she was covering education for The Dallas Morning News.
She was also a graduate research assistant at Investigative Reporters and Editors, and has also reported for St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Ventura County Star (Calif.) and the Antioch (Calif.) Ledger Dispatch.
Hacker has a B.A. from Stanford University and a M.A. in journalism from University of Missouri-Columbia.
