Journal Record in Oklahoma City adds two reporters

The Journal Record, a business newspaper in Oklahoma City, has added two reporters to its staff.

A story on its website states, “Veteran journalist Steve Metzer has been named capitol reporter. Metzer, former reporter and city editor of The Lawton Constitution, is a 1986 graduate of Oklahoma State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Metzer joined The Lawton Constitution in 1986, covering a wide range of issues, industries and events affecting Oklahoma residents and consumers.

“In addition, Metzer served seven years as an adjunct instructor at Cameron University-Duncan, where he taught a developmental writing course.”

The story also states, “Also, Daisy Grant joined The Journal Record as its energy/aerospace reporter. Before joining The Journal Record last month, Grant served nearly nine months as a reporter for Tinker Take Off, the official newspaper for Tinker Air Force Base. Grant also served as a legislative coordinator for Legislative Information Service Oklahoma and web editor for The Oklahoman.

“Grant, who earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 2017, also served as assistant news managing editor of The OU Daily from August 2016 to March 2017.”
