Patrick George, the editor in chief of auto industry site Jalopnik, is leaving the publication next week.
“This decision was entirely mine, and though it was an incredibly difficult one to make, I’m leaving for a new opportunity I’m very excited about,” he wrote on Twitter.
He became editor of Jalopnik in 2015. He joined the site in 2012 as a writer and then became associate editor and managing editor.
George previously spent six years at the Austin American-Statesman, where he covered crime and courts.
