The Montreal Gazette has been expanding its definition of what fits business news in its paper and explains what’s going on.

The Gazette writes, “What is a business story?

Money“If you have been reading this page in recent months, you’ll notice that we’ve expanded the definition.

“Business journalism is not just about companies and their doings. Essentially, it is about money and all the ways it affects people’s lives. It’s about people making money, losing it or sometimes stealing it in crafty white-collar ways.

“The benefit of looking at business from this big-tent perspective is that it allows us to invite more people inside to join the conversation about our times.”
