An Irish government agency has offered to educate CNBC anchor Joe Kernen, whose on-air gaffe last week about its currency was mocked by many, reports John Aidan Byrne of the New York Post.
Kernen writes, “Jon Brubaker, a spokesman for the the Irish Executive Mentoring Program — which has teamed with Silicon Valley’s Everwise on cloud-based technology used to attract and develop members through mentoring — said professionals like Joe Kernen could apply. He said applicants do not need to hold an Irish passport or have Irish ancestry.
“‘Yes, yes, definitely,’ he said of the idea that Kernen should sign up.
“‘Partnerships are based on a multi-factor matching process, using data from more than 60,000 historic matches, ensuring they are optimized for success,’ according to the promoters.
“CNBC had no comment.”
