James Chen has been hired by finance and investing news site Investopedia as director of trading and investing content.
In this role, Chen will work with editor in chief Caleb Silver to build out the Investopedia Academy’s educational curriculum and online courses. He will also be in charge of the site’s investing content, assigning news and updating Investopedia’s library of tens of thousands of finance and investing terms.
Chen joins Investopedia from Forex.com where he was the head of research and education for the currency trading platform.
“We are building a team of experts and content creators who are passionate about investing education and want to build a best in class online learning environment for our 30 million monthly visitors as well as the millions of people who are looking to learn how to invest on their own,” said Silver.
The Academy is the fastest-growing part of the company in terms of revenue, staff and operations. To date, the Academy has launched more than 30 online video courses with subject matter experts who teach investing, trading and professional skills such as financial modeling and excel for finance.
Investopedia has its own in-house video production facilities, led by director of production Eric Van’t Zelfden, complete with video editors, instructional designers and content editors.
