Investopedia enters audio journalism field with podcast

Investopedia announced the launch of “The Investopedia Express” podcast.

It’s the 22-year-old website’s first foray into audio journalism and is dedicated to educating individual investors about current market events. Hosted by editor in chief Caleb Silver, podcast covers weekly developments for retail investors and breaks down key financial concepts listeners should keep an eye out for in the week ahead.

Every week, Silver, a veteran business journalist who has worked at CNN and Bloomberg before joining Investopedia in 2016, is joined by guests, including major investors, business leaders, and academics, who help analyze key trends around markets, business, technology and the economy. Silver incorporates investing and financial education terms and concepts to help listeners connect the dots between what is happening, and how it impacts their money.

“The podcast is something we have wanted to do for a long time, but is more important now than ever given the level of anxiety people have around their money and the economy,” said Silver in a statement. “We are trying to create a listening experience that stays true to Investopedia’s mission of educating people about investing, while making it relevant to today’s markets.”

“The Investopedia Express” releases new episodes on Monday mornings and is available on all major podcast networks.
