Jacob Shamsian, a journalist who has been with Insider for more than 5 years, is now covering legal affairs as a senior reporter.
Shamsian joined the company in 2015 as a breaking news intern and was then promoted to the post of reporter, covering internet culture, politics, trending news, entertainment, and other news subjects. In 2019, he was named news editor, before being promoted to his current post.
Shamsian also works freelance, and has written for GQ, The Awl, Time, The New Republic, Modern Farmer, and Binghamton University Magazine. He was also a production assistant at ILT Productions NYC and has worked at Pipe Dream for more than 2 years, joining as assistant release editor, arts and culture and then holding the post of release editor.
He has also interned at Entertainment Weekly, Interview Magazine, StayClassy, Tazpit News Agency, MRQE.com – the Movie Review Query Engine, and Knewton.
