Daily News business writer Phyllis Furman wrote: “Insana, whose contract was up, said his exit has nothing to do with the broader changes at CNBC. ‘There was an opportunity that presented itself and CNBC gave me an opportunity to keep a solid relationship,’ Insana told the Daily News yesterday.
“The CNBC veteran said he is about to strike a deal with a publisher for his monthly, subscription-based newsletter.
“The working title is ‘The Ron Insana Report.’
“In addition to launching his own company, he will also aggressively seek speaking engagements, something he was not free to do as an anchor.”
