The Indianapolis Star, which last month said it would cut its standalone business section, has reversed course, according to a story on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s web site.
The story stated, “‘Weâ€™re always looking to improve the product, and donâ€™t want to take anything away,’ said Star Executive Editor Dennis Ryerson. ‘The reality is, we just couldnâ€™t figure out a way to make it work out any better than it was before.’
“Star officials had proposed rotating business and Metro&State columnists on the section cover, and interspersing some of the top stories from each section on the cover, while maintaining a dedicated business section within.
“But in the end, Ryerson said, Star officials couldnâ€™t figure out a good way to integrate the two sections.
“‘We looked at all of our options, and we didnâ€™t like our options,’ Ryerson said. ‘Going forward, the readers shouldnâ€™t notice any difference.'”
