Larry Avila, a business reporter/editor at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, has been hired as the business editor of the Times of Northwest Indiana in Munster.
Avila had previously been a senior communications specialist for Milwaukee’s public schools. Before that, he was editor of New North B2B, a monthly business-to-business magazine serving northeastern Wisconsin.
Avila was business editor of the Appleton Post-Crescent in Wisconsin from June 2006 to July 2013. Before that, he was business editor of the Naperville Sun in Illinois.
He has also been managing editor of The Business Ledger in Oak Brook, Illinois, and editor of The Business Journal in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Avila is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
