Fort-Wayne-Business-WeeklyThe Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Terry G. Housholder, president of KPC Media Group Inc., writes, “It was a major leap for our family-owned company based in Kendallville. While we had published well-read, award-winning newspapers in northeastern Indiana for decades, we had not ventured into a larger community that had strong media presence. We knew the only way to succeed was to produce an editorial product that offered business news readers couldn’t get elsewhere. That’s why we invested in a staff that could produce a must-read newspaper.

Rob Kaiser, a seasoned business writer for the Chicago Tribune, was hired as the first editor. His assistant was Linda Lipp, who was the acting business editor of the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel. While Kaiser went on to become publisher of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lipp is still offering up excellent news coverage for the Business Weekly, assisting our editor, Lucretia Cardenas, a talented journalist and manager, who has been in the role since July 2014. Cardenas, who grew up in northeast Indiana, is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Journalism. She also has an MBA from the University of Houston. For nearly five years, she worked for daily newspaper in Texas before spending several years as an editor and team leader at an international provider of commodity information and analysis, before returning to northeast Indiana.

Barry Rochford served as editor of the Business Weekly from July 2006 until June 2014, when he became managing editor of The News Sun, a KPC daily newspaper serving Noble and LaGrange counties.”
