Indiana Business magazine folds

Indiana Business magazine, which had published in the state for 52 years, has folded, writes Andrea Holecek of the Munster Times.

Holecek writes, “Both Indiana Business, which was published monthly, and its sister publication, the Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly, were owned by Indianapolis-based Curtis Publications.

“Curtis sold its interest in Northwest Indiana Business Quarterly to Glee Renick-May, the magazine’s associate publisher. Glee will resume publishing the magazine in its spring issue using ‘local resources and contributors to the magazine,’ according to Curtis President Eric Servaas, who also served as the publisher of Indiana Business.

“However, Indiana Business magazine has become another casualty of the economy. Among other offerings, the magazine published an annual list of top Hoosier businesses in several categories as voted by its subscribers and presented annual Excellence Awards to Indiana companies.

“‘On the day that Warren Buffett said the economy has ‘fallen off the cliff,’ we realized that our small journal, dependent upon advertising, is no longer economically viable,’ Servaas said Monday in a letter to the Hoosier business community and the company’s advertisers.”
