India newspaper starts business journalism program

The Times of India announced that it has started a program to teach business journalism in that country due to the need of business reporters there.

A story in the paper states, “After scripting its widely acclaimed success story, Times School of Journalism (TSJ) now presents an innovative Business Journalism course comparable to any across the globe. The course seeks to provide students an understanding of business and financial concepts as well as well-honed media skills, with a broad vision of creating scribes for the 21st century’s knowledge-based society. Mentoring the students will be some of the best minds from India’s largest media house — The Times Group — the publishers of this newspaper.

“The highlight of the year-long programme is a four-month comprehensive internship in leading brands like The Times of India, The Economic Times, Indiatimes, economictimes.com, timesofindia.com, ET Now and Times Now. If who are young, passionate, have a way with words, challenges, enjoy a supercharged work environment and want to make a name for yourself, TSJ is the place for you. To be eligible to join, you need to be a graduate with at least 50% marks and under 27 years of age. For further details, visit www.tcms.in.”
