Inc. hires Webb to be tech columnist

Amy Webb, the author of “Data, a Love Story,” has been hired as Inc. magazine’s newest tech columnist.

Her new quarterly column will spot tech trends for Inc.’s audience, which is entrepreneurs at the fastest-growing private companies in the country.

The first column will debut in the April issue.

Webb’s consultancy, WebbMedia, produces yearly tech trend forecasts to some of the biggest companies in the U.S. Forbes named her one of the “Women Changing The World” and she was one of “20 Women To Watch in Media” list by the Columbia Journalism Review.

Webb is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and worked at The Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. She is on the advisory boards of the International Center for Journalism and the Temple University journalism program.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
