Impact investing site Karma hires two journalists

Glenn Gamboa, Neanda Salvaterra

Impact investing news site Karma has hired Glenn Gamboa as editor and Neanda Salvaterra as a reporter.

Gamboa will play a role in shaping Karma’s voice as it reports on news and insights relevant to impact investors around the world.

A native of Cleveland, where he got his start as a business reporter, Glenn now resides in Brooklyn. He spent 19 years at Newsday, where he led a project about the impact of hip hop on America that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. As a freelancer, Gamboa’s work has appeared in CNN, Wired, and Spin.

Salvaterra joins from The Wall Street Journal in New York, London, and Africa, where she covered the oil business, the global transition to renewable energy, national elections in Nigeria and Angola, and U.S. foreign policy on Africa.

At Karma, she will be reporting on the ways in which impact investing is growing and changing. She holds a degree in political economy from the City University of New York and a master’s in journalism from Columbia University, and believes in using journalism to find “better and more ethical ways to do almost everything.”

New York-based Karma covers ESG and socially responsible investing.
