Illinois paper makes changes to Sunday biz section

Tim Landis of the State Journal-Register in Springfield, Ill., writes Sunday about changes to the paper’s Sunday business section.

Landis writes, “Most of the existing content — this column, the Ala Carte restaurant column, Personnel File, restaurant inspection reports, business profiles and features — will remain and even expand. But we plan to add more local content, including weekly guest columns from local chambers of commerce and economic-development groups.

“There also will be more news on what’s happening in the local business community, including new businesses, more local photos, Chamber of Commerce and community events, and retirement and service anniversaries.

“To make room for the changes, this is the last Sunday for The Motley Fool after a 12-year run in The State Journal-Register. Michelle Singletary’s column is moving to Wednesday, where she replaces the now-retired Humberto Cruz.”
