Idaho Statesman to cut stock listings?

February 27, 2007

The Idaho Statesman newspaper appears to be on the verge of cutting its stock listings, if an announcement in Tuesday’s paper is any indicator.

Idaho StatesmanIn that announcement, the paper asked its readers for the names of the stocks and mutual funds they regularly watch.

The announcement stated, “The Idaho Statesman wants to know what stocks and mutual funds readers depend upon the Statesman to include in its daily stock listings. We need you to tell us.

“If there’s a stock or mutual fund you check regularly in the paper, please let us know. We will continue to list it.

“E-mail your request for stocks or funds you monitor to stocks@idahostatesman.com. If you don’t have Internet access, mail your request to: Stocks, Business News Desk, Idaho Statesman, P.O. Box 40, Boise, ID 83707. Requests must be received by Monday, March 12.

“Be sure to include your full name and phone number or e-mail address so that we may contact you. Include the precise name of the company or fund you want listed (example: Vanguard Primecap, not just Vanguard). Include a stock’s ticker symbol and exchange.”
