Ryan Hutchins, who previously covered real estate, transportation and politics for Politico’s sister publication, has been promoted to the post of deputy editor for states and Canada, Politico.
Previously, Hutchins was a statehouse reporter covering the Christie administration, with a focus on environmental policy at The Star-Ledger. He also covered Union County and worked for the paper’s local news division.
Before that, he was a reporter covering the City of Schenectady schools and government for Times Union.
Hutchins has a degree in journalism from State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.
